The workbook for grade 4 consists of a
review of the skills students must master to pass the ASK4 Language
Arts Literacy test. Using both narrative and informational text, it
reviews reading skills such as identifying the main idea and
supporting details, determining the setting, understanding the
meaning of unfamiliar words, distinguishing between fact and
opinion, making inferences, and drawing conclusions. The writing
exercises teach students how to write proper sentences and use
correct punctuation. Several different types of writing prompts
provide a range of topics and styles of writing. Includes two
full-length, simulated practice tests, which can be used as a pre-
and post-test to gauge a student's progress.
The Teacher's Guide includes a
description of the test, answer key, explanations and solutions, and
instructions on how to use the holistic scoring rubric to grade
