This workbook was designed to help students prepare for the New
Jersey High School Proficiency Assessment in language arts literacy.
It contains full-length, simulated pre- and post-tests that can be
used to gauge students' progress. The
reading component helps develop students' abilities in analyzing persuasive,
narrative, and informational text. The writing components provide
practice in creative writing and revising and editing text containing
errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, word usage, sentence
structure, organization and clarity. The workbook also includes
writing prompts, a grammar and mechanics review, revising and
editing exercises, sample scoring rubrics.
The Teacher's Guide includes a
description of the test, answer key, explanations and solutions, and
instructions on how to use the holistic scoring rubric to grade
open-ended and essay questions. |
